Day Zero

We started the conference with the beer competition judging, brewery tour at Horizont and a welcome party at the Ruin Brew Pub. Our venue this year was the Central European University, a fantastic space right in the heart of the city.

Day 1

We had a range of excellent seminars covering technical and business-related topics important to all of us in the industry. Keynote speaker and award winning journalist Jeff Alworth shared his insights into creating craft beer culture. Other seminars focussed on brand storytelling, brewing no/low alc beers, resurrecting the Grodziskie style in Poland and a full sensory session on identifying off-flavours and learning how to create your own tasting panel. In the evening, we boarded the boat for a cruise on the Danube with live music and buffet dinner.

Day 2

Today’s seminars covered a panel discussion on the state of the industry, funding opportunities for craft breweries in the region and several technical seminars focussing on increasing efficiencies in the brewery.  This was followed by the Beer Cup awards ceremony where we presented 15 medals to the best beers from the region. We finished with the closing party at Craft Head Bar which continued well into the night and next day.

Day 3

The Master class was a hit led by Oliver Himmel of Brew your Mind. He brewed 1000 Liters of Hazy IPA together with Csaba Peto of Hedon brewery.

In all the CEBC gave us an opportunity to meet the suppliers face to face, see old friends again and make new ones in a relaxing and positive environment.

“Many thanks for such an inspiring and interesting conference. Very professionally organized with a great mix of presenters and participants. We’d be happy to attend next year with a new class of brewing students from southern Sweden.”

— Jakob Thomsgård Lärare, Yrkeshögskolan Kristianstad Brewing School
